Inbound Program

Taipei Medical University has three affiliated hospitals, Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wan Fang Hospital, and Shuang Ho Hospital. We provide Medical Elective Program for foreign medical students to have the opportunity to observe healthcare professionals in the affiliated hospitals. 

  • Taipei Medical University Hospital was founded in 1976. By 2012, the JCI-accredited facility had expanded to 833 beds, with 28 specialty medical departments. Thirty-nine sub-specialty medical departments provide a broad range of clinical services. The facility's main specialty centers include the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Cardiovascular Center, Da Vinci Surgery Center, Joint Replacement Center, Health Management Center, Breast Health Management Center, Comprehensive Weight Management Center, Esthetic Medical Center, Stereotactic Radiosurgery Center, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Center.

  • Wan Fang Medical Center has 732 beds, more than 350 full-time physicians and over 2000 staff. Because it is affiliated with Taipei Medical University, many doctors in training from the university do their clerkships and internships at Wan Fang Medical Center. Located beside a major transit station in Taipei, Wan Fang Hospital has been operating since 1997 as Taiwan’s first publicly owned, privately operated hospital. Ever since its founding, the hospital has strived for total quality management to ensure that patients receive health care of the highest standard. "Quality of service is our pride" is the motto for our effort. In December 1998, Wan Fang Medical Center received ISO-9002 international quality certification; this was followed by ISO 9001 in 2008 and by JCI accreditation in 2006,2009 and 2012.

  • Shuang Ho Hospital was offically opened on July 1, 2008, and it is located at Jong-He City of Taipei County in Taiwan. Shuang Ho Hospital is the first Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project commissioned by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan. It is not only the largest hospital in Taipei County, but also forms the medical “olden triangle” with the Taipei Medical University Hospital and Wanfang Hospital, which in total capacity of over 3000 beds. Shuang Ho Hospital focused on providing emergency and critical care, and it intends to serve a population of 700,000 around Jong-He and Young-He City. After four years of design, soil removal, land grading, the First Medical Building of Shuang Ho Hospital was established in July 2008. The First Building consists of 13 floors, a roof and 2 underground floors. Shuang Ho Hospital was accredited by several international organizations which include JCI in 2009. Moreover, Shuang Ho Hospital makes great effort in international health care, providing professional medical services with kindly cares.
